Case studies
Global Electronics Conference - Lisbon
The Brief: A global electronics giant organise an annual 3-month conference at an international venue in order to present new products to their staff and clients. Elegant Entertainment had provided their Singing Waiters act the previous year and the client had loved the concept of the surprise element. With the same audience of 500 people in attendance, we were tasked with providing a new surprise act that was outside the boundaries of the normal Singing Waiters setting.
Solution: We devised a scenario where our singers/actors posed as presenters for 3 whole days of the summit before performing at the dinner on the final night. In order to reflect the bespoke nature of our company, we tailor-made the act based on the 3 days that had passed
Response: The pay-off was enormous. Having the guests see us, the presenters and members of staff, transformed into three tenors singing Nessun Dorma delivered the message of the company in an exciting, unpredictable, and entertaining way.
Ryder Cup Sporting Event – Wentworth Golf Club
The Brief: The Ryder cup stands as being one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar and Elegant Entertainment were asked to provide a surprise act for a pre-tournament dinner at Wentworth Golf Club.
Solution: The day of the dinner a variety of clients participated in a coaching clinic. Our performers joined the clinic posing as two American and two European guests. They mingled with the other attendees and posed with the Ryder Cup. In the evening our artistes performed a surprise act incorporating the Ryder Cup with songs moving from Delilah and O Sole Mio to Tonight from West Side Story, all in the fantastic ballroom at Wentworth.
Response: The guests were astonished and delighted. We were honoured to perform in the presence of some sporting greats of past and present including Ian Botham, Kevin Pieterson, Michael Vaughan, Paul Collingwood, Matt Dawson, Keith Wood, Phil Babb and US captain Corey Pavin.
Charity Ball Dinner – The Dorchester, London
The Brief: After performing their Singing Waiters Act at the 2010 Make A Wish Foundation Ball, we were asked to return for the following year’s event. With some of the same guests in attendance Elegant Entertainment were asked to provide something similar that would still make a huge impact.
Solution: We provided three performers for the evening. Our first singer posed as a Guest, taking part in the evening’s Black Tie festivities. Our second member posed as a Sound Engineer, and the third as the ‘official act’ – Craig from Wigan. Craig was welcomed on stage but immediately experienced technical difficulties. Our Sound Engineer ran out on stage whispering to Craig who then made the announcement that the equipment was broken and the audience should ‘talk amongst themselves’. After our Sound Engineer fixed the problem he asked our carefully plotted Guest to help test the equipment in order to get the levels. Imagine the surprise of the audience when our Guest belted out an incredible high note. Pretending not to notice Craig sat the Guest back down and started the gig before there was another problem. In an attempt to help, the Sound Engineer joined in on the mic – once again wowing the audience with his voice. It wasn’t too long before the Guest joined Craig and our Sound Engineer on stage, all three performing a smashing set of classics.
Response: We took the audience completely by surprise. The awkward set up at the beginning of the act provided the perfect set up for us to do what we do best.
