Mark Banks

Mark Banks is one of the most well-known and respected comedians of his generation.
Mark has at least one new one-man show per year in his 25-year career, and he creates and performs all of the material himself. Mark has consistently played to sold-out audiences around the country since his acclaimed debut in comedy. Nothing and no one is sacrosanct to Mark's blunt comedy, which is widely recognised for his political satire and ordinary dig at the rich and famous. He explains that he does so because "it's easier to look at the other side of things that don't have another side, and if they don't have one, invent one." Mark, who is notoriously anti-PC, claims he began performing at the age of 11 when he was "able to balance an entire Zulu rondavel and its contents on his chin while singing 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing' by the then New Seekers."
His incessant banter and unrestrained one-liners have earned him overwhelming acclaim as MC at award ceremonies, corporate functions, banquets, and conferences, where he nonchalantly digs in to everyone with his potent brand of Banks humour.
