WONDERboom are still shaking South Africa after 24 years! Being considered as one of South Africa's longest-running and most iconic rock bands and still going strong is no minor task.

Although rock is the band's primary sound, WONDERboom has dabbled in other genres such as funk, punk, and even afro-dance. Nobody can disagree that WONDERboom's greatest strength is their live show. From concerts to nightclubs, the band consistently kicks ass!

WONDERboom has recorded nine albums, headlined numerous major South African festivals, and has been nominated for five South African Music Awards for "Best Rock Album." They also won the South African leg of the 2004 Global Battle of the Bands and finished SECOND WORLDWIDE at the finals in London!

Few South African music fans are unfamiliar with their hits, which include Never Ever, Jafta Rebel, Something Wrong, Green Fever, Africa, Shadows, Charlie, It's Great to be Alive, Best Side, On The Radio, Karaoke Bar, and now, currently on SA radio stations, Ooh La La, Southern Light, Praying Mantis, and Hell.

WONDERboom's original members, Cito, Martin Schofield, and Wade Williams, have been writing music and performing together for almost 25 years and show no signs of slowing down!

Danny De Wet, co-founder of WONDERboom, played drums from 1996 to 2009 and was instrumental in the band's early years.

Garth McLeod, Sugardrive drummer, was with us from 2009 until 2013, but was tragically killed in a motorbike accident. May his soul rest in peace.

Then, in a sort of reinvention, they've had to restart the WONDERmachine. Enter Jonathan Bell on drums, and a new Rock & Roll relationship was born...

Since then, it's been a therapeutic and contemplative journey, but no one who has lately seen them live can deny the overwhelming amazing power that WONDERboom is. Rising Sun, their most recent album, vividly depicts this story. The title track expresses how they feel as a band: a fresh dawn. A resurgence of what was formerly considered an exciting, live, and highly thrilling music experience has arrived!

In early December 2017, the band travelled to Chengdu, China to represent South Africa in a music performance competition at the Silk Road Indie Music Festival and WON GOLD!!! They beat off 14 other countries (including the United Kingdom, China, Japan, and Germany) to win first place. WONDERboom will return to China for a nationwide festival tour later this year.

A notable highlight for the band was being chosen as the single support act for Guns 'N Roses on the South African leg of their "Not In This Lifetime" tour, which took place on November 29, 2018. WONDERboom's dream has come true!

Rising Sun has kept WONDERboom incredibly busy since its official album debut and successful promotional tour around South Africa and China at the end of 2017.

Fans and the South African music business have already embraced singles such as Great Escape, Ooh La La, Southern Light, Praying Mantis, In Place of Something, and Hell.
