Dave Levinsohn
Gauteng
Dave Levinsohn's comedic style has been described as 'off the wall' and impromptu. Since his debut as a host at the Coffee Lounge comic Club in 1997, he has established himself as one of South Africa's most bankable comic acts.
The former Art Director made a sensible decision; graphic design's demise is comedy's gain. He enjoys making others laugh.
He has appeared at the Vodacom International Comedy Festival, the Cape Town International Comedy Festival, and the Smirnoff Comedy Festival, and he was one of the first South African stand-ups to be asked to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2012, alongside Loyiso Gola.
He has been in numerous advertisements, some of which have gone on to win prizes and become viral hits.
He co-hosted the inaugural season of SABC 3's 'Going Nowhere Slowly' and served as a head writer on MNet's Late Night With Trevor Noah (2010).
