Nay Maps

A man who needs no introduction, to many he may be known as Mxolisi Xulu from SABC 1 hit-telenovela UZALO, to others Dingaan Khoza from Mzansi Magic’s THE QUEEN but Nkosinathi ‘Nay Maps’ Maphalala is a young Zulu man who grew up in the dusty streets of Soshanguve, Pretoria. He is the eldest child at home, the only son and is followed by his 2 younger sisters, Thando and Wandisa whom he loves so much. With roots in KwaZulu-Natal, he’s claim to fame was when he starred as Mxolisi Xulu on SABC1’s Hit Telenovela UZALO, which became the Most Loved and Most Watched show in South Africa with 10,2 million viewers every night.

This Leading Man studied Software Development (BSc IT) at the University of Pretoria but later pursued his love for the Arts in the Entertainment Industry. He started his journey in the Arts as a Model. He won a modelling competition in Pretoria and became the Face Of Wonderpark Mall in Pretoria. This then propelled him to do even more from Modelling to TV Commercials. He’s first TV Commercial was a Lead Role in an MTN TV Advert. He has worked, collaborated and partnered with brands such as FNB, VW, Discovery, Bombay Sapphire but to name a few.

In 2016 he founded his clothing line NAY MAPS CLOTHING which is all about spreading love and showing people the importance of believing in themselves and for them to know that they are loved. His passion for fabrics and textiles lead him to create his own line with a vision to manufacture high quality garments that would compete on a global scale like Nike, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada etc.

With a sweet-tooth for days, yet very health conscious, he’s love for ice cream lead him to produce his own ice cream brand called THE LICKERY with his friend Thabo.

THE LICKERY is a hand-crafted superfood ice-cream made the African way with all natural ingredfients, meaning it’s high in nutrients and anti-oxidants and onto of that, it is sugar-free.

Nay is a very driven, determined, confident, exuberant and loving individual who is on a constant journey of growth and strives to better each and every day. He loves traveling, adventure and having fun.

He was on Tropika Island of Treasure Season 8 Maldives where he almost won the competition and came out 2nd.

He will be competing in the ALL STAR SEASON of TROPIKA ISLAND OF TREASURE SEYCHELLES.

He is the Ambassador of DEFY as he believes that its important to be yourself and stick to your lane and to know that through unity, we can pioneer the future together as people and that no matter the odds, it Is important to always believe in better.

He is a firm believer in inspiring the youth and motivating them to believe in themselves and to know that they can achieve anything they put their minds on as long as they believe.

Through his NAY MAPS FOUNDATION, He goes around the country doing MOTIVATIONAL TALKS, MC work, and GIVING BACK to the youth and the needy without making a noise about it.
