Amarilllie Ackermann
Gauteng
Amarilllie Ackermann is a harpist from Johannesburg, who has spent most of her life playing the harp for functions. In the last ten years, she has learned to play the piano accordion as well and has performed at several functions – often with both instruments.
She is the only person in South Africa who can play both these instruments, and at functions, it can create a unique variation. The harp is the more classical, serious concert music instrument, and the accordion is better suited for lighter music – folk music from different countries, with a strong serenade effect. It is extraordinarily well suited for French themes.
Amarillie is available for functions using either of the two instruments, or both.
