Amor Vittone

Gauteng

At the age of sixteen Amor presented Body Beat on television and soon after, she became the presenter of Supersport. After completing high school at Hoerskool Die Fakkel, Johannesburg as head girl, Amor studied a BA-degree in Communication, specializing in Advertising at the Rand University. She passed her Honours degree Cum Laude.

But it is her experience and ability as an SA champion in tap and modern dance and her title as Miss Johannesburg that opened doors for her to star in productions like West Side Story at the State Theatre in Pretoria and Richard Loring’s Girl Talk. She also appeared in Strictly Tap Dance Fever in the Joburg Theatre and later Streets of Gold in the Lyric Theatre.

In 2012 Amor starred in a production of her own, named Amorisque, along with a dance group in the Odeon Showbar at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park. The production ran for four months.

Amor’s debut album, Wild Cherry Kisses was released in 1998. The album was distributed by EMI and includes both English and Afrikaans songs, as well as “Ti amo” an Italian song that celebrates her half-Italian heritage.
