Kirstin Walters

Kirstin has been captivating audiences with her soulful melodies and passionate performances across South Africa since 2013. In June 2023 she relocated from Gauteng to the Western Cape.

Kirstin's journey into the world of music began at the age of 12 on both the piano and clarinet where she started off with classical training. She always had a love for jazz music and the saxophone. Since the clarinet and saxophone are quite similar she decided to pursue her love for the saxophone by studying further and graduated with a Honours in Music (BMus) from the University of the Witswatersrand (Wits) in 2018.

Kirstin is well experienced in performing different styles of music. She’s played with the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra, Johannesburg Symphonic Wind Band, various DJs, a pop group called “Cazz”, jazz ensembles and toured South Africa for 6 years with the indie-folk group called “Jerry & The Bandits”.

Since 2019 Kirstin has performed as a solo saxophone act with backing tracks as accompaniment at various weddings, private events, birthdays and corporate shows. Some solo performance career highlights include playing at: the re-opening event of Sun City post covid, the Desmond and Leah Tutu foundation, various Standard Bank & FNB events, the MTN women’s month celebration, Liberty Life end of year event, RMB’s end of year event, the launch of a new Telkom store, Cape Town’s dermatology congress, a Microsoft team building event, an exclusive champagne tasting for Moet Chandon and many more.

Kirstin can tailor her sets specifically to what the client requests. She’s got an expanse repertoire of classic sax standards like “Careless Whisper”, background lounge music like “Café Del Mar”, jazz standards like “Summertime”, South African hits like “Special Star”, tropical house music and the newest radio hits. Whether you want music for welcoming drinks, background music while your guests are dining or if you want to get you guests dancing and singing along, she’s got you covered.

Kirstin can be booked as a solo act, as duo or trio act (with a violinst/vocalist/pianist etc.) or with a DJ. With a touch of elegance and a huge passion for music and performing, Kirstin
