Nkuli Buri

Nkuli Buri, formal name Nonkulueko Shiburi, is a phenomenal female saxophone player from Soweto. She is classically trained and was part of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra company (JYOC) from 2008- 2015. She started playing the saxophone there and obtained her grade 4 theory in classical music. She further played for the Unisa Wind Band in 2016. In 2020 she decided to persue her love in jazz and popular music at the Central Johannesburg TVET College, art campus. She completed her Nated level 6 in music performance with all 4 subjects in 2021. She is currently continuing her jazz journey at Tswana University of Technology, Art campus. She teaches recorder to primary school kids in Soweto and a freelance musician, playing at corporate events, weddings, baby showers, birthday celebrations and any event that involves music. She has recorder 3 house tracks that are on all digital platforms.
