Reabetswe “Rubystringz” Letsoalo is a talented violinist from Johannesburg; whose dynamic energy and elegance is sure to add a spark to any occasion! She completed her high school at the National School of the Arts and furthered her education at the University of Johannesburg in a Bcom Marketing Management Degree as well as a Diploma in Violin Performance.


Ruby’s Orchestral career include playing with various orchestras in South Africa such as: the Soweto Youth Orchestra, the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra, lead the National School of the Arts orchestra and the National Junior Orchestra. Professionally she has performed as freelance violinist for the Johannesburg Camarata Orchestra, the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the JMI Orchestra.


At the age of 16, Ruby toured Italy and Spain with the Roadeen School

Orchestra in celebration of the opening of the Mandela Forum in Florence Italy. Since then, she has been blessed to travel and experience music in around Africa and Europe. Ruby is a member of the all girl Pop String Quartet, The Muses, which has performed expansively throughout South Africa and collaborated with various artists such Prime Circle, Elvis Blue, First Project, The Soil, Tamara Dey and Khuli Chana to name a few. The Muses have recorded and released six albums called Pop on Strings, the first released in April of 2012 and the last released in May of 2020. The Muses have featured on high profiling television programs such as Top Billing, Dancing with the stars, Espresso, Idols South Africa ands Afrikaans is groot to name a few.


During her Solo musical career, Ruby has had the opportunity to record with artists such as The Muses, Siyabonga Mentane- Slikour, Octave Couple- Jazzwoxx, JR, Khuli Chana, HHP, Nasty C and Ms Cosmo. She has also featured as a violinist for Rock bands such as with Five Star Channel, Sixteen Stitch Inersha, Prime Circle and The Parlotones.


She also plays with various House and Hip Hop Djs such Black Coffee, Lulo- Café (Metro FM), The Naked Dj (Metro FM) and Miss Cosmo (5FM) Her collaborations are featured on Lulo- Café’S “Keep the level low” music video, Black Coffee orchestra Africa Rising concert, opening act along side the Naked Dj and Ms Cosmo at the Castle Light Concert featuring international Hip Hop artist Drake, Two Chainz and Kendrick Lamar.


She was taught by Mr. Michael Masote (Bmus, LRSM) and Mrs Annie Kossmann (Bmus)
