  • Book African Entertainment | Hire African Entertainers Today

Experience authentic African entertainment. Hire African entertainers to bring vibrant performances and cultural flair to your event < Back Rob Caskie ARTIST ENQUIRY I am interested in booking Select a date First Name Last Name Email Company Phone Submit Event details KwaZulu Natal I am often asked about the “WHO, WHAT, WHEN and WHY” of what I do, so I have prepared these words to help you consider including me in your next event or conference. Who am I and what are my areas of expertise? Having enthralled audiences with my experiences on motorcycle trips in southern Africa at university, I embarked on a professional speaking career 20 years ago. I have presented the stories of South African History, the battles of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift along with early Antarctic and Arctic exploration successfully to thousands of audiences around the world. As a consummate story-teller, I specialize in telling stories about human beings in extreme circumstances. My interest in people and their history was cemented by extensive travels all over the world.A passionate interest in photography assists me in creating visual images via the power of the spoken word. Alongside my speaking career, I conduct regular battlefield tours in KwaZulu Natal. What are my presentations about? Stories about human beings in extremis. My presentations resonate in the minds of the listener and relate thought-provokingly to the lessons which are to be learned from yesteryear. I specialize in telling powerful stories and entertaining audiences in the theatre of their own imagination, sans PowerPoint. “When the lights trip, Rob does not”. When should you use me? In any situation where something significantly different, compelling, thought-provoking and memorable is required. My stories, which may weave your theme into their content, are a great way to open or close an event. Being multi-cultural they are utterly appropriate for all audiences – they are essentially human stories. Why? As human beings, we have grown up with story-telling, yet with the entertainment options available today, this ancient art is being lost. Audiences love being swept up in a great story and entertained in the theatre of the mind. Storytelling may seem like an old-fashioned tool, today – and it is. That’s exactly what makes it so powerful. Life happens in the narratives we tell one another. A story can go where quantitative analysis is denied admission: our hearts. Data can persuade people, but it doesn’t inspire them to act; to do that, you need to wrap your vision in a story that fires the imagination and stirs the soul. When you want to motivate, persuade, or be remembered, start with a story of human struggle and eventual triumph. It will capture people’s hearts – by first attracting their brains. Allow me, with my stick and trademark shorts, the opportunity of revitalising your audience with a human story well-told.

  • Mark Denton (UK)

Business Speaker // Corporate Events // Motivational Speaker // Speaker // Speakers // virtual events < Back Mark Denton (UK) ARTIST ENQUIRY I am interested in First Name Email Phone Submit Select a date Last Name Company Event details International Born and educated in the Midlands of the UK, Mark has always had a passion for people and an eye for performance. This was first nurtured when working on the shop floor of his family’s shoe manufacturing company in the school holidays, introducing several initiatives to make people feel more valued whilst being more productive in what was a very traditional top-down, numbers focussed environment. The seeds of the importance of people focussed leadership was firmly planted! His early working life was spent running his own car valet business before he sold it to his competitor to attend the University of Bedfordshire as a mature student. Three years later he surfaced with an honours degree in Business Administration with Human Resource Management, which he first put to use as an Account Executive for a media agency in London. But city life was not his destiny, and two years later he left to concentrate on his other passion – sailing. 4 years and 30,000 sea miles later, Mark entered the grueling selection procedure against 186 others to be a skipper on the BT Global Challenge 2000/2001, the ultimate environment to put everything he had learned about sailing and working with people into practice. Victorious, he went on to skipper ‘BP Explorer’, the yacht sponsored by energy giant BP in this toughest of round the world yacht races achieving a podium position. More races followed and for the next three years his feet barely touched the floor. However another calling was emerging, as Mark’s multi-media story recounting the leadership and teamwork lessons learned from the BT Global Challenge took off. This also led him to get involved in many leadership and team development initiatives within these clients, and in 2006 Mark established the dynamic organization development consultancy MAXVMG that he still leads to this day. Mark is also a sought-after Executive and Team coach, and a Master Practitioner and Circle Member of Executive Arts, a company that manages the distribution and use of the innovative Transition Maps that help individuals, teams, and organizations that are grappling with confounding change. Mark lives with his wife, two children, and two dogs near Southampton in Hampshire. Hobbies include skiing, keeping fit, running, cycling, paddleboarding. And of course sailing! TESTIMONIALS I really enjoyed the Resilience Leadership session delivered by Mark . It was relevant, informative and entertaining and most importantly of all it provided food for thought with regards to personal management style and team interaction. Catherine Furey-Blaize Mark, provided the finale to our 2 day Managers conference, his story gave us some very powerful messages about leading people in an engaging, entertaining, very human and well grounded manner. It was a most enjoyable, refreshing, & thought provoking. Lorraine MIldner

He has lived in Nigeria and South Africa, where he was working as managing director for a logistics company. During an extended holiday in India in 2009, he was introduced to different styles of yoga, and since then he has continued to practice yoga regularly and experience its many benefits to stay balanced and healthy while having a busy traveling and work schedule. Steven loves the vinyasa flow style of yoga with a good amount of strength and intensity in the classes and its always-changing sequences depending on the inspiration of the moment. In 2013 he completed his first yoga teacher training, promptly quit his corporate job after 12 years, and started Yoga Works to share the benefits of yoga and mindfulness with lots of people and to organize fun yoga events in and around Johannesburg (you can find him on rooftops, in art galleries, in the park,…) Expect fun and creative sequences focussed around a central theme per session, accessible to all levels of yogis who enjoy a bit of challenge and surprise. Steven loves inversions and arm balances and always offers lots of opportunities to go upside down or to try out something unexpected. Other important elements of his classes include funky playlists, lots of hands-on adjustments and precise instructions for safe alignment. Steven has trained with a number of internationally renowned teachers like Briohny Smyth, Dice Iida-Klein, Honsa & Claudine Lafond, Mackenzie Miller, Mathieu Boldron, and Cameron Shayne. YOGA SESSIONS I have developed several new mini-workshops during the lockdown period which can work great as a movement break as well as giving people the tools to maintain and improve their health and vitality. Here are some possible themes you can choose from, or feel free to add your own topic you would like to work around (all sessions usually consist of movement/stretches, a breathing exercise and a brief mindfulness session). The sessions can either be taught as a physical yoga practice (on a mat) or alternatively as a practice done on a chair including movement and other exercises – or it might be a nice idea to offer a bit of both so that everyone can get a taste of the different wellness practices.
