Elevate your event or production with sophisticated entertainment Life Healthcare 2021 - 2025 CLIENT BRIEF A full production show for the year end achiever awards. The client had never had a show or entertainment before and post COVID they were very excited to celebrate together in a way they’d never done before. The client wanted celebrity performers and a show that highlighted the spirit of resilience and honoured their past year, achievements and struggles in way that bought them all together in a fun and celebratory way. OUR CREATIVE INSIGHT We suggested a number of performers that we believed would suit the theme, the demographics of the client and representative of a South African landscape. We suggested a few different options of how this could be executed and what themes they could apply to really create a cohesive and vibrant production. HOW WE EXECUTED THE PROJECT After securing all the artists contracts and countless production meetings to get to the final structure of the evening and show down we went into pre production writing all the creative links and putting together a working production schedule. This involved rehearsals and booking and creation of costumes, props, set build and creation of musical backtracks for on the night. THE OUTCOME 2023 AWARDS We created an immersive show featuring Aerial and Floor Cirque Acts, Live Musicians, and the incredible vocals of the talented Lloyd Cele and Tracey Lee Oliver. A whimsical show with a ‘Cirque Du Soleil’ feel that felt inspirational and spectacular as we celebrated the many achievements of the organisations inspiring staff. Helping us give that inspirational flow was the talented radio host Bunny Majaja as MC for the night- we even included this talented lady in a surprise song at the end of the evening with our full cast for a spectacular finale! 2024 AWARDS With a paired down show for 2024 due to internal sentiments we took an existing show with the talented Out Of The Blue Band and their stunning dancers to give them a Legends Through The Ages show. We intertwined the songs choices from the 1980’s to 2024 to tell the story of Life Healthcare, it’s milestones and achievements. The show was fun and quirky and featured the talented Craig Urbani and Mortimer Williams - stars of the stage and screen. The evening was once again brought together by our MC, the incredible Good Guys Things Guy, Brent Lindeque who helped remind us why SA and Life Healthcare are such powerful and inspiration journeys to celebrate! He was 36 at the time of the kidnapping. Freedom is an attitude “5 years 8 months is a long time. I believe that I’m like any other person. I’m no different. We all have problems and we shouldn’t judge one another, as we have different coping mechanisms and breaking points. I do, however, believe that it’s our attitude that separates us and determines how we cope. Some people give up too easily.” Freedom is an attitude During Stephen’s abduction, he was kept far from civilization, deep in the Sahara, away from the searching eyes of French surveillance planes and drones. He was allowed limited communication with his family in the first six months of his captivity. However, when the French Military Forces arrived in Mali, this ceased altogether. Stephen was cut off from all familiar ways of life. Living outdoors in harsh conditions meant that he had to acquire a variety of new skills including how to protect himself from the elements as well as how to communicate across language and cultural boundaries. But most of all, he learnt how to stay alive; remain positive and be present when everything was stacked against him. Uncertain as to whether he would ever be released or die in the expanse of the Sahara, he made a decision to not let his situation get the better of him. He decided to rather hold onto hope and take control of his attitude. Stephen was finally released in August 2017. Stephen continues to claim back his life with a fresh and positive outlook, using the skills heacquired in the desert during his extreme experience. A part of this process is sharing his story to inspire others with hope and a way to overcome any situation that challenges or tests them. After meeting in the Stellenbosch University choir and several coffee dates, the two learned they had much more in common than a love of folk and blues music. Esté, a theatre student at the time, and Lourens, who was completing one of his three business degrees, had a vision of restoring authenticity to music and reminding audiences of luminaries such as Johnny Cash, June Carter, and Bob Dylan. As a result, the Bottomless Coffee Band was formed. After appearing at a number of corporate events and weddings, inquiries began to pour in. The band quickly realised that there was a genuine demand for their work and began booking their own public gigs and performed to sold-out theatres. The band's next move was to document the first few years of their musical journey, and in November 2014, they published their debut album "Room With A View." The release of their debut album garnered national interest, and the band quickly embarked on their first national tour in February 2015. .After a run of local tours, a tour to Namibia, festival slots, and playing alongside some of the industry's greatest names, BCB decided to take their biggest leap of faith yet, embarking on a two-month tour of Europe and the United Kingdom in July and August 2016. The tour comprised performances in Belgium, the Netherlands, and England, as well as a week-long appearance at the iconic Edinburgh Fringe Festival, widely recognised as the world's greatest arts festival. BCB had become a global sensation! So far in the Bottomless Coffee Band narrative, 2017 has been an eventful year. The band recently concluded an extremely successful Namibian tour and has begun production on their highly anticipated second album with famous producer and Springbok Nude Girls member Theo Crous.
