Darryn Govender

Born and raised in the heart of the Mother City, Darryn Govender is a singer-songwriter dedicated to creating music that resonates on an emotional level. Known for his distinctive acoustic sound, he is a self-taught musician whose influences range from John Legend to Jonathan Butler.

He has performed on major platforms across the greater Cape area and is a resident musician at several iconic venues throughout the city.



Darryn has featured on both national and local media on several occasions, including appearances on SABC 3's Expresso Morning Show, shows and interviews with Good Hope FM

and Heart FM as well as performances on Cape Talk. He notably appeared on the front page of the Weekend Argus after opening the Moonstruck Summer Festival on Clifton Beach. He has shared the stages with the likes of Paxton Fielies, Jimmy Nevis and Craig Lucas, making music in productions at venues including the DHL Stadium, City Hall, and the Artscape Theatre. He also headlined and performed sold out shows at the Baxter Theatre with RAW and the Zabalaza Festival. He currently serves as the resident musician at esteemed establishments like the 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa, One&Only Cape Town and Hazendal Wine Estate.
