South African born singer-songwriter & producer GVBRIEL , invites you into an immersive, soulful and heart-felt experience with his smooth, genuine & emotional vocal tone.

Formally known as Austin Lurring on Season 1 of The Voice South Africa in 2016, the singer started building an audience since his appearance on the reality TV- show. After his journey in the competition came to an end, he decided to rebrand himself completely and now goes by the name 'GVBRIEL' which is an artistic adaptation of his second name and represents a new and evolved identity.

Hailing from the small town Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal, he decided to move to Johannesburg where he would complete his BA in Live Performance and continue building his career in the industry hub.

The self-taught multidisciplinary artist takes his influence mainly from R&B, Soul, Gospel & Pop. Some of his biggest musical influences are Boyz II Men, Usher & Chris Brown as well as local music icons like Lira, Mi Casa and AKA. GVBRIEL has accumulated much of his live-performance experience from The Barnyard Theater, doing a variety of shows as one of their lead vocalists and even hosting a few shows from 2019 up until late 2023 when he decided to explore a new avenue as a free-lance entertainer and guitar-singer.

Currently Cape Town based, GVBRIEL is available for a host of different events from weddings and birthday parties, to corporate/private functions, hotels and restaurants. So far, GVBRIEL has graced a few venues already; The Blue Room, Gusto and Urban Umami to name a few. This year he hopes to find himself on bigger stages such a The Mojo Market, Kirstenbosch Gardens Festival & The V&A
