Carina on Flute
Nationwide
Contemporary Flute sounds by multiple award-winning Classical-contemporary flautist Carina Bruwer, one of the most recognisable instrumentalists in South Africa.Carina, also the leader of Sterling EQ – the the SAMA Award-winning all-woman trio known for coining the genre “instrumental pop” through their unique take on instrumental music – is praised far and wide for her phenominal technique combined with her idiosyncratic improvisation skills and soulful interpretations rarely associated with this instrument.
Her repertoire includes a selection of easy listening Jazz tunes, pop songs, Irish and celtic pieces, Classical crossover tracks, some Jethro Tull inspired numbers, and some “fluty lounge”.
She is also able to play any piece of music from the Classical repertoire, and always happy to source and arrange special requests from any style genre!
Carina’s much acclaimed lung capacity is continuously boosted by her sport of choice:
she is well-known as a long distance swimmer, having broken numerous local and international records with her ultra marathon solo feats which includes crossing the English Channel, Gibraltar Straits and even False Bay.
