No one is the ultimate South African comedy behemoth like Barry Hilton. This versatile and dynamic comedic icon, forged in the fires of the worldwide comedy circuit from London to Hong Kong, handles the audience with captivating charm and contagious ease. His impeccable timing and tap-dancing mind will make any audience glad they came, regardless of their personal background. Hilton has had one of the most successful careers in South African stand-up history and shows no signs of slowing down. In 2013, he became the first South African to headline four shows at the famed Harrah's Improv at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In 2014, the "cousin," as he is affectionately known throughout the country, completed a UK tour, opened the Hong Kong 2014 Comedy Festival, and performed in Singapore and Macau. He wowed the notoriously critical audience at London's Clapham Grand, and his hilarious performances in Dubai had him nominated with John Cleese for Best Comedy Act at Dubai's Timeout Nightlife Awards 2013. Not bad for a former electrician who couldn't stop himself from laughing. Given the magnitude of his accomplishments and demanding schedule, Hilton does not appear to age; rather, his life experience serves as fuel for his distinctive worldview. This seasoned raconteur just sold out a 4200-seat arena concert, which no other local comic has ever accomplished. In classic Barry fashion, he followed that up with a sold-out two-hour performance in Sydney's historic Opera House. Hilton describes this performance as a career highlight, while ex-patriot South Africans and Australians alike lauded it as "stellar..." "... first-class," and "thoroughly entertaining..." Barry is recognised to numerous generations as a gentleman comic and a master craftsman with immaculate timing, an unexpected hairline, and a stare that doesn't miss a thing, with sets that are never filthy, cruel, or mean-spirited, but always humorous. Many people may be surprised to learn that their favourite comedian is also a terrific serious actor - he's cut his teeth on meaty film roles like Lenny in "Finding Lenny," where his soulful blend of humour and profound empathy makes for important sequences. Award-winning stand-up comedian, movie star, motivational speaker and actor, talk show host, and the face of Savanna Cider and Roman's Pizza. There isn't anything in the media that Barry hasn't conquered. Barry Hilton is an institution that has lasted the test of time and continues to impress as he breaks new territory and makes 'em laugh all over the world, thanks to his truly funny bones, unique ability to gauge an audience, firm position on working clean, and relentless work ethic.

Find exceptional musicians for hire! Explore our musicians bookings to find the perfect talent that will elevate your event to the next level < Back ARTIST ENQUIRY I am interested in Select a date First Name Last Name Email Company Phone Submit Event details Amarilllie Ackermann Gauteng Amarilllie Ackermann is a harpist from Johannesburg, who has spent most of her life playing the harp for functions. In the last ten years, she has learned to play the piano accordion as well and has performed at several functions – often with both instruments. She is the only person in South Africa who can play both these instruments, and at functions, it can create a unique variation. The harp is the more classical, serious concert music instrument, and the accordion is better suited for lighter music – folk music from different countries, with a strong serenade effect. It is extraordinarily well suited for French themes. Amarillie is available for functions using either of the two instruments, or both.

The concept is really a combination of worship and working out. Borne out of the desperate to keep my sanity during Covid-19 and national lockdown, fighting to stay afloat, with sustained economic inactivity and increased body weight weighing in on me simultaneously, Joy was birthed. This programme is the pulling together of the strands of faith, fitness, and friend being woven together to provide a platform for people of all races, places, colours, creeds, and classes to find joy and share it. Gospel Music, which is the backbone of joy, allows participants to be energized, edified and encouraged while we all navigate a season where we have to REBUILD, RESTORE & RENEW. As a woman and activist, I decided to draw the line and stage a sustained protest against any music that objectifies women and reduces all men to predators who seek to plunder our virtue which results in all sorts of abuse, misuse, and destruction of humanity. Joy’s philosophy is simple – every human being as a right to have and share joy, to make this world a better place for all its inhabitants (HUMAN BEINGS). For this reason, we extend this movement to ALL, with a specific focus on the poor, downtrodden, grieving, heartbroken, oppressed, depressed, confused, rejected, isolated, ostracized – victims, villains, and victors. At JOY, we believe in hope, promise, rejoicing and giving thanks in all situations. Our delightful team isalways cheerful, helpful and ready to spread joy to the people meet, and in the opportunities, we are granted, to make a difference in the lives of our clients. Looking to hire an event MC? Book a skilled event MC to engage, entertain, and ensure your event runs smoothly. Connect with Elegant Experience < Back Denver Vraagom Gauteng I am an award-winning actor and presenter. Recently, I have moved on to producing again. I had a good spell as a director on one of South Africa’s local Afrikaans daily dramas, 7de Laan. Family is quite important to me, so after my tenure as director, I relocated to Cape Town with our daughter, Skye. My actor wife, Ingrid, joined us recently. Stellenbosch is where I fell in love with theatre. I started acting in school where, every year, we competed in drama competitions. (Every year I would win either best actor or best supporting actor awards). In grade 8 (1998) I joined the Breughel Theatre Group and got to act in my 1 st television series. I had the privilege of being mentored by the late, great, Dr. Benoni de Haeck. As a director, Henry Mylne showed me the ropes. After matriculating in 1990, I went to study BA (HMS) – Human MovementStudies at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), as I was a provincial gymnast and athlete. This was not for me. I did not want to become a masseuse or physical education teacher. So, I started freelancing in 1992. Needless to say that I have been freelancing ever since. 28 years to be exact. Many leading and supporting roles followed. Currently, I am freelancing again as an actor, director and presenter and, I am also available as program director (Master of Ceremonies). I am also an avid copywriter and voice artist. ARTIST ENQUIRY I am interested in Select a date First Name Email Phone Submit Last Name Company Event deails
