Book the perfect speaker for your event today < Back Rusty Labuschagne ARTIST ENQUIRY I am interested in Select a date First Name Last Name Email Company Phone Submit Event details Gauteng Rusty Labuschagne is a unique premier speaker on the professional circuit. One is immediately struck by his sincerity and humility as he delivers a dramatic account of his transformational experience. Rusty has been through a trauma few have experienced. In 2003, without a body and against police evidence, he was wrongly convicted of drowning a fish poacher and spent 10 harrowing years under horrendous conditions in Zimbabwe’s prisons during Mugabe’s rule. He talks about being subjected to conditions most people would find unbearable, having to draw on his inner resources and strengths to endure the unimaginable. In the process, he developed not only a life-saving resilience but also empathy and a keen desire to help his fellow inmates. His faith in God, positive mental attitude, leadership qualities, and lessons in forgiveness, gratitude, and humility bring a personal, transformative and authentic message of hope and freedom. Rusty’s message to audiences is that everyone is faced with challenges, but it is who you are, and the depth of your determination, that will get you through life’s darkest moments. He shows how one can harness one’s inner strength and let go of what one cannot control. What makes Rusty’s story so powerful is that he discovered personal freedom and gratitude in the harshest conditions which have given him a new perspective on life and business. As a successful businessman before his incarceration, he brings fresh insight into what it really means to thrive.

Three years later, 2PM DJs have grown their business and brand as their long list of gigs goes beyond the Kagiso area. “We have known each other since our early teens and we even went to the same schools. But it was after we finished high school that we realised that we were hanging out at the same turn ups (parties) and we seemed to enjoy the same music genre, hip hop. We even joked that we would be DJs, but at the time there weren’t a lot of female DJs around,” said Manne. They continued to pursue their individual career paths but their passion for music was still burning within them until they took the plunge in 2017.
